Tiger nuts are edible tubers found at the end of the root system of Cyperus grass. They are indigenous to Egypt and can be enjoyed as a snack or ground to make a gluten-free flour. Alternatively, they can be used as an addition to stews and soups. Tiger nuts are gluten free, rich in fibre, iron, potassium, protein, magnesium, zinc and vitamins E and C. Organic, vegan friendly and African indigenous.
Suggested recipes to try: tigernut milk (made with whole tigernut) or cookies made with the flour. Also good stirred into stews and soups. Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, store in an airtight container or reseal.
